Lisa comes to The Center for Learning Unlimited with a strong background in mental health, pediatric and school based occupational therapy. She worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Stone Institute of Psychiatry, Chicago for 15 years and Center for Developing Kids (CDK), Pasadena for the past 5 years. Through CDK, She has worked in a clinical setting as well as a variety of private, public and therapeutic schools such as 5 Acres and Frostig. She is SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Test) certified and SCERTS (Social Communication, Emotion Regulation and Transactional Supports) trained. She has co-presented several courses and workshops on handwriting foundations and promotes relationship-based and sensory integration models of intervention.
Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1993. She received her Master degree in Interdisciplinary Art from Columbia College, Chicago in 2004.
On a personal note, Lisa has a passion for puppetry and art. Outside of work, she sculpts with found objects, makes jewelry and enjoys nature. She vacations with her family in Northern Wisconsin where she fishes, kayaks, and hikes with her nephews.
